    About Us

    Bagian Teknik Sistem Industri saat berdiri bernama Teknik dan Manajemen Industri (TMI). TMI pada tahun 1980-an merupakan perkembangan dari disiplin ilmu manajemen (Scientific Management), teknik industri dan penelitian operasional. Selanjutnya pada tahun 1990-an bidang keahlian TMI diperkaya dengan masuknya Ilmu Sistem (System Science), teknologi informasi (Information Technology), kebijakan manajerial (managerial policy) dan Sistem Intelijen. Pada tahun 2006, Laboratium TMI berubah menjadi Bagian Teknik Sistem Industri (TSI).  Sehingga keilmuan bagian TSI ditujukan untuk memahami sistem yang kompleks, menganalis dan memformulasikan model dari sistem yang kompleks tersebut dengan tujuan untuk memperbaiki kinerja sistem, misal efisiensi, efektifitas dan produktifitas. 

    Ranah keilmuan Teknik Sistem dan Industri:

    “disiplin yang dibangun dari sekumpulan perangkat metodologi di bidang teknik industri, teknik manajemen, dan teknik sistem untuk penyelesaian persoalan agroindustri melalui pendekatan terintegrasi dalam rangka peningkatan produktivitas”

    Industrial Engineering = Teknik Industri

    Industrial engineering is concerned with the design, improvement and instalation of integrated systems of men, materials and equipment. It draws upon specialized knowledge and skill in the mathematics, physical, and social sciences together with the principles and methods engineering analysis and design to specify, predict and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems.

    Agroindustry = Agroindustri

    An agroindustry is an enterprise that process materials of plant or animal origin. Processing involves transformation and preservation through physical and chemical alteration, storage, packaging, and distribution.

    System Engineering = Teknik Sistem

    Systems Engineering constitutes the application of efforts necessary to (1) transform an operational need into a description of system performance parameters and a preferred system configuration through the use of an iterative process of functional analysis, synthesis, optimization, definition, design, test and evaluation, (2) integrate related technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces in a manner that optimizes the system definition and design, and (3) integrate performance, reliability, maintability, logistic, support, safety, producibility, survivability, human factors, and other related specialties into the total engineering effort.

    Engineering Management = Teknik Manajemen

    Engineering Management is the field concerned with the application of engineering principles to the planning and operational management of industrial and manufacturing operations, and Engineering Managers are prepared to plan and manage such operations. Engineering Management degreed programs typically include instruction in accounting, engineering economy, financial management, industrial and human resources management, industrial psychology, management information systems, mathematical modeling and optimization, quality control, operations research, safety and health issues, and environmental program management.
